Complete your Joy - A Call for Unity and Humility (Phil 2:1-4)
Gospel joy is not rooted in getting what you want. True joy only comes from a saving understanding of what Jesus has done for you and a humble giving up of your self and following Him. Paul takes this gospel truth in this passage and exhorts the church in Philippi to be humble, selfless, and loving in every situation, and pursue peace and unity with other Christians who know and love their Savior. The gospel is the key to unlocking lasting joy, unity in the church, and living a humble life. If the gospel is the center of your life, church splits over ancillary issues will most assuredly be avoided and joy and harmony will be maintained in every local body of Christ.
