Hello, my name is Marian Diceanu. I am the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church in Farmington. We are delighted that you took time to visit our web site. We would rejoice to see you at one of our Sunday morning services.
We have been in this community since 1826. This is the second-oldest church in the entire state of Michigan. We have a long history in this community.
Yet what is important about our church… it’s not the longevity, in terms of our history, but it is the love that we have for the Lord Jesus Christ. Because we believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, as the Bible says, is The Way, The Truth, and The Life,1 and nobody comes to the Father except through Him. We also believe that Jesus Christ is the answer to the world’s greatest need.2 The world needs the Lord Jesus Christ, and we, as a congregation are committed to preaching Christ.3
We also believe that the Bible is God’s “blueprint” for life — this life, and the life to come. And as such, we time to preach through the Bible verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter because we believe that is a living word, a powerful word.4 Our motto as a church is Psalm 138 verse 2: “You have exalted above all things Your Name and Your Word,”5 and that is a very good encapsulation of what we are all about as a congregation here.
