The more in step we get with Christ — His person, His purposes, His plans and His people — the more out-of-step and out-of-sync we will be with the world. We will feel the ridicule, the sneering, the laughter, the criticism, the accusations of intolerance and narrow-mindedness, derided and dismissed by the socially-acceptable belief that there are more ways to God than Jesus alone. When we feel the pain and the price that we need to pay to exhibit our faith and our love for Christ, there is a temptation to back-pedal and silence our witness for Jesus. There is a real temptation to have a more quiet, unassuming and a less offensive faith. For the disciple of Jesus Christ, the call and the challenge for you from God’s word is to STAND UP, STAND UP FOR JESUS. Pastor Diceanu explains that this is what Paul wanted to get across to Timothy in his epistle, 2 Timothy. Paul is languishing in a Roman prison, any day potentially being his last day and he wants to make sure that whatever else Timothy does, he STANDS UP FOR JESUS.
This third installment in Pastor Diceanu’s series, “Passing on the Truth,” on 2 Timothy, entitled “Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus – Part 1 (2 Timothy 1:6-12),” is now available for download.
